Speaking in the aftermath of police shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota and the murders of five police officers in Dallas, the likely GOP presidential contender said he would be the "candidate of compassion" who could restore order to crime-plagued cities.
Trump added he was the "candidate of compassion".
"We are going to fight for our military and our law enforcement personnel the same way they have fought of us", he promised.
"Law and order" is a familiar political slogan, one that Richard Nixon and allies used as far back as the 1968 election.
Trump will "never need to catch up to Hillary Clinton, because she'll never catch up to him in terms of just the sheer dynamism and magnetism, that historic, really unique, singular type of candidate that he is", Conway said Monday on Fox Business Network's "Mornings with Maria".
