He tweeted that the company has sold 110 million Redmi phones globally ever since the first handset was released in August 2013, this comes down to 1.21 units per second over three years.

Xiaomi, as promised, released the MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM on Monday. "Please note, the MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM is projected to be released on Aug 16, please stay tuned for further announcement", the company said in its MIUI Forum post.
The MIUI 8 Beta ROM v6.7.5 will be available for Redmi Note (3G and 4G), Redmi 2, Redmi Note Prime and the recently launched Mi Max to start with.
