No Chinese authorities were available for commenting on Tesla's crash and self-driving policies in the country.
The luxury electric-vehicle manufacturer also pulled a Chinese term for "self-driving" following complaints by the motorist that Tesla "overplayed the function's capability and misled buyers", Reuters reports.
For this year, General Mills, Inc. "The passengers are all unharmed", a Tesla spokesman said, adding that passengers were able to get out of the car, a Model S 90 D, safely before the fire.
Chinese staff told Reuters that they have been instructed to emphasise that drivers must keep two hands on the wheel while the car is in autopilot mode.
This is Tesla's largest store to date in all of North America. The company conducted investigation over the incident and concluded that the fire was a result of the short circuit.
Despite the official response containing the term autopilot, Tesla's management appears to have decided to no longer use the term, at least in China. You have to figure that will save a bit in operating expenses.
Tesla has no service center in several large states. If gross margins improve, it certainly would make the situation more possible. The actual leading theory is that the vehicles are updating. And besides, Musk says the era of true self driving cars is just around the corner.
The other major factor is whether or not the SolarCity (NASDAQ:SCTY) acquisition goes through.
